This Week in Room 21...

Here's a sneak peek at our week : ) ----------------------------------------------------- This week we finished our animal research writing. The students worked on editing their writing for capitals, periods and spelling. They also put the finishing touches on their illustrations. In math, students worked through math centres practicing sorting 2D and 3D objects. In social, we learned about the history and culture of Meteghan. Students learned that Nova Scotia was originally settled by the French and many people who live there still speak French and celebrate their Acadian heritage. In science, we talked about the summer solstice and went on a community walk to look for signs of summer. On our walk we played a game called Camouflage. This is kind of like hide n' seek. The students try to blend in with their environment and the teacher tries to spot them. Friday was National Indigenous People's Day. We read the book "The Medicine Wheel: Stories of a Hoop Dancer...
