Our Learning This Week...

In Language Arts, we listened to a variety of stories and practiced identifying important story elements. Students learned how to recognize the characters, setting, problem, and other key parts of a story. After each story, students reflected on what they had learned and recorded their thinking in their journals. This helped students strengthen both their reading comprehension and writing skills. In Math, we continued our learning about graphs. This week, students explored how graphs can help us answer questions and draw conclusions. They practiced "reading" graphs by looking carefully at the information presented and determining what the data was telling them. Students worked on comparing quantities, identifying the most and least common responses, and using graph information to answer questions. In Science, we learned about litter and pollution. Students discussed the difference between the two and explored how human actions can impact the environment. We talked about the 4...
