It was another short week. Please note that we did not have Library this week as the librarian has been away. Take a look below at what we have been up to.

This week we have focused on learning about story parts and elements. Students learned that stories have a beginning, middle and end. They also learned that part fo the story differen elements are introduced. For example, in the beginning we learn about the cahracters, setting and problem. In the middle we learn about the events and at the end we find out the solution to the character's problem. We listended to the story 'Stephanie's Ponytail' by Robert Munsch, identified the parts and elements and sequenced them.
In gym, we had our last inline skating class. The students had a great time and showed real improvement since we began. They also worked on dribbling and passing in basketball.
We continue to learn about matter in science and the difference between materials and objects. We also began learning about the properties of materials such as the colour, size, shape, texture and whether an item is processed or natural. The students sorted items based on various properties and described a Mystery Object for their classmates to guess.
It was also Metis Week. We revisited our learning about who the Metis people are and looked at Metis Bead art. The students are learning to make a beaded flower in the "style" of Metis bead art. Stay tuned to see how they turn out!
Important Information & Reminders:
- Library Day is on Wednesday. If your child misses a Library Day we will try to send them on a different day, however, it will not always be possible to do so. Most times they can simply wait for the following Library Day.
- Inline Skating - Our last inline skating session is Wednesday, Nov. 15. Please ensure your child is dressed properly for this event.
