Our Learning This Week...
It has been a week full of learning and exploration! Keep reading to learn all about what we have been up to : ) In reading , students continued exploring the silent e spelling pattern and how it makes the vowel “say its name.” They built words using letter tiles and practiced reading decodable texts featuring long e sounds. It has been great to see students growing more confident in recognizing and reading these patterns. In writing , we focused on journal entries about our Spring Break experiences and our exciting trip to TELUS Spark Science Centre . Students are continuing to strengthen their understanding of complete sentences by using capital letters, periods, and proper spacing. They are also being encouraged to expand their ideas by writing longer, more detailed pieces, using a variety of sentence starters.
